THIEVERY CORPORATION: ROUND TWO

Seeing Thievery Corporation for the second time, I wasn’t sure how it would compare to my first experience at Brooklyn Bowl in Philly. That venue was small, intimate, and packed with great energy. Franklin Music Hall, on the other hand, has never been my favorite spot. The standing arrangement makes it hard to see, the upper deck is solely for 21+, and the sound quality isn’t always the best. But this concert changed my mind.

The ticket situation was a bit of a mess. They had only sent me printed tickets with no online access, and me being forgetful, left them at home. I had to buy another ticket at the door, but at $40 for general admission, it wasn’t too bad.

Once inside, the atmosphere was incredible. Thievery Corporation sounded amazing, just like they did at Brooklyn Bowl. They brought out a variety of unique artists to perform the lyrics to their songs, making the show feel fun and exciting. The setlist had the same high-energy vibe, and the performance kept the crowd engaged the entire time.

Speaking of the crowd—it was mostly older folks, which actually worked in my favor. There was plenty of space to move around and dance, making it a much more enjoyable experience than a typical packed venue.Despite my previous reservations about Franklin Music Hall, this concert made me reconsider. The sound was solid, the crowd was chill, and Thievery Corporation delivered an unforgettable performance. Safe to say, I’d go back.
